It’s hard to believe it’s been two months, but on July 1st, we ventured along the very scenic, narrow, unpaved and remarkably beautiful Old Fall River Road, east of Estes Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The road is 11 miles long, and it took us about 90 minutes to travel. It was a cool, cloudy day but that didn’t take away from the breathtaking beauty.
We stopped at various picturesque spots along the way, getting some nice shots of the waterfalls, the road itself as well as the view from our climb up the side of the mountain, concluding with the obligatory elk shots.
The last time I went on the old fall river road there were several boulders on the road we had to negotiate around. As I recall, our trip took about 4 hours.
