
Given the current state of affairs, it seems only appropriate that this month’s post features poop. No, not that kind.
When making multi-color 3D prints, there is some waste when changing filament colors. To ensure a clean transition, a certain amount of filament is “pooped” out when the system switches to a new filament.
Poop dragons (and other poop prints) are made from what would otherwise be wasted filament. Normally it’s just tossed, but can be redirected, often with very cool and visually interesting results.
Here are a variety of results. The last image shows the regular dragon and the resultant poop dragon.
