Cards by Cassandre, for Hermès

As shared previously, I have an interest in unique vintage playing cards. It’s hard to define my tastes, but I know what I like when I see something!

I’ve found a few interesting vintage card designs in recent months and this is one of my favorites. Released in 1948, the cards were designed by famous artist Cassandre, for the Hermès department store in Paris. His work is highly regarded, and in 1963 he designed the logo for Yves Saint-Laurent. As the title card indicates, they were produced by Draeger Frères, also of Paris. You can find out more about the cards and their designer at the World of Playing Cards site.
