Complacency

The administration has started a new campaign, this time warning Americans against complacency. For once I actually agree with the words of their message, though I do have a different goal in mind in trying to waken folks from their complacent attitudes.

It is complacency that has brought America to the brink of perhaps the worst constitutional crisis in our history.Too busy worrying about terror, high gas prices, 10 year old murders and much more, most folks don’t have the energy to get involved; it’s just politics, after all.

Well, now it isn’t just politics. The current administration is making a concerted effort to gain supra-constitutional powers and if they succeed it will be a very difficult struggle to return to a balanced form of government. Even I get tired of this now 5 year old battle for our country and don’t post on this topic near as often as I think I should. However, I am a patriot and I love my country and given the thousands of deaths spent defending our nation and what it stands for, I find I must speak out on occasion.

People! Pay attention!! Do you know that folks like me have now been compared to Hitler by both Rumsfeld and Bush? This bullshit has to stop, The current admnistration has sunk to new lows in their political discourse and I for one and just sick and tired of this behavior.

I wish the online (corollary to) Godwin’s Law applied to real life, because then it would have to be said the administration just lost. On the other hand, if I might, I don’t think Godwin’s Law applies when there is an actual direct comparison to be made. As an exercise, go and study the history of how Hitler came to power, legitimately and under the cover of law.

And then think about what kind of country you want to live in 10 years after 9/11. I pray it will be a better, safer, more law-abiding, more moral country than it is today.

And hey, apologies as I never swear on this blog, but here’s a big F*CK YOU to those who try to paint me and my fellow Americans who love this country as defenders of terrorism. You know that’s not true and it’s time to remember, we are not the enemy! And make no mistake, there is absolutely no “moral and intellectual confusion” regarding who is doing the most to harm America and American’s way of life by constantly brandishing fear as a cudgel in order to gain more and more power.
