Bison, a Wooden Puzzle

Last month I assembled the Agate puzzle from Nervous Systems, an intricately cut wooden puzzle.

Turns out that there is more than one company that creates wooden jigsaw puzzles!

This month I’m taking a look at one of the many amazing puzzles from the Liberty Puzzle Company, Boulder, CO.

This particular puzzle is based on a painting by Sue Coccia, named Bison. Her EarthArt International site is a great place to view more of her work.

Like all Liberty Puzzles there are many special pieces they call “whimsies”.

Whimsy pieces are cut in the shapes of recognizable objects, such as characters, animals, or complex geometric shapes.

Below is a small sampling of the whimsy pieces that ship with the Bison puzzle, along with a picture of the box itself showing the Bison image.
