The recent rains here in Kansas have yielded some great results when it comes to waterfalls. Many of the falls around the state are looking as impressive as they ever look, and with this in mind we traveled a couple of hours to check out a couple that looked promising.
We first headed to see Chase Lake Falls, near the spillway of Chase Lake near the town of Cottonwood Falls. After a walk of about one-half mile I found myself at the bottom of what I’m told are 3 falls, though I only saw two. The first three shots are from this location. I didn’t get any shots of the upper falls; have to leave something for next time.
After that we headed north to the falls at Lake Kahola. Another beautiful lake in central Kansas, this one surrounded by nice homes on both sides of the shore. The middle two shots are of the falls east of the spillway.
No photos, but supper at the Hays House in Council Grove was great!
We saw a full sundog on the way home, and ended the day with a nice sunset.
