We took a quick trip to Estes Park Colorado over the weekend. While some of the aspens had shed all of their leaves, for the most part there was plenty of fall color to be seen. In fact, it was down right beautiful! The promised bad weather Sunday didn’t materialize, which just gave us more time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
In addition to the magnificent scenery, there were the ever-present elk, including a few who caused a traffic jam when they crossed the highway late Saturday afternoon.
But the biggest surprise was the opportunity to view a big horn ram in the wild. He and a group of smaller rams were making their way up the side of a small mountain as we made our way down highway 34. They are so nimble and make climbing straight up look easy!
I ended up taking and processing a few more images than usual. There are 35 in total on my Flickr set: Estes Park Fall 2014
