September 24th, 2004.
It was a Friday. And after an exciting and stress-filled summer (is buying a house ever easy?), and after a very intensive weekend spent packing a semi-trailer with all of our belongings, we were on our way.
We were moving back to Lindsborg, to a house we purchased during our visit in July. Though we were frequent visitors, we hadn’t lived in Lindsborg since 1978.
We left San Jose in the afternoon and spent the first night in Bridgeport. It’s one of our favorite spots, having first visited there in the early 90s, and we’ve been back many times since. We had plenty of time, planning our arrival for the Monday before the truck the following Tuesday.
So this was a last chance to take a breath, say goodbye and look towards the east and our new future.
And now 10 years have passed. Blink! More on that in a future post. For now, a few pictures from 10 years ago today. The first three were taken on the drive up (Bridgeport is northeast of Yosemite), and the last two from the Walker River Inn in Bridgeport.
