I met a few interesting people yesterday as part of a work-related video shoot. One person in particular, Koop, has a great website that I spent some exploring last night. In so doing, I think I gained some insight into why we moved to Lindsborg.
One of Koop’s photos is titled “The Blue Door“. Nonetheless, it sure looked green when I saw it last night, and it reminded me of the classic H.G. Wells short story, The (Green) Door in the Wall. The story is about a person who basically found many very important reasons to not “follow his bliss” as Joseph Campbell would say. I won’t give away the details as the story is both fairly short, and well worth reading.
How this relates to our Lindsborg move is that I read the story and posted about it after having seen our Lindsborg home online for the first time, but after it went off the market the first time. When we came to visit in July, the house was back on the market, and the rest, as they say, is history. But though I had consciously forgotten about the story, I now realize it did influence our decision to move, as I didn’t want to go through life always wondering about what was behind the door.
