My first tutorial at eTech is the Web Services mash-up. It’s an intro to the topic, with examples and an in-depth review of a variety of available web “APIs”. Among the sites that provide web APIs are Google, Amazon, Technorati and Flickr.
Key point is that with the plethora of available web services, it’s an interesting time to mash-up, or combine in new and interesting ways, the services provided by these web APIs, thus creating new virtual web applications.
Most of the demoed mash-ups are more proof of concept than practical, useful services, but as this tutorial demonstrates, the future of mashed-up web services is limited only by developers imaginations.
