MoveOn.org recently ran an ad contest looking for entries that displayed a different perspective than most political ads. Tired of the same old ads, MoveOn went in search of “new talent and new messages”. In their own words:
We’re looking for the ad that best explains what this President and his policies are really about — in only 30 seconds.
MoveOn intended to show the winning ad during this years’ Superbowl. CBS turned them down, citing a policy against airing “advocacy” ads. Unless, that is, the are ads are sponsored by the White House. (I wonder if the recently passed legislation that greatly benefits CBS had anything to do with their decision? What do you think!?)
