On our way home from a business trip last month we spent a day exploring the desert south west of Blythe, California. We were looking for geodes and other interesting rocks. That, and indulging in our love of roads that barely qualify for the name!
The stark beauty of the desert never fails to enchant, and hopefully these photos share some of that experience.

I like the way you processed these, natural but with a little panache!
Thanks! I love a full-on HDR as much as anyone, and have certainly created enough of my own, but for these images a slightly softer hand did seem to work rather well.
Actually, from my perspective, astonishingly well. These are single image HDRs, and the “straight” shots are very bland, low contrast, etc. So I’m really pleased w/the final result.
