We had the good fortune to see Willie Nelson in concert at the Stiefel Theater in Salina on Tuesday evening (earlier today from my perspective).
I had the even better fortune of taking a few reasonably good photos. We were in the last row of the lower balcony; great views and wonderful sound!
Willie was in fine form tonight. His voice was strong and clear, showing no sign of the 75 years he’s spent on this earth. His guitar playing was a real treat; he gets some amazing tone out his old, abused, technically, one would say damaged, guitar!
The Stiefel Theater in Salina Kansas is a wonderful old movie theater, now serving as a venue for live concerts. The last movie I saw there was Star Wars back in 1977; I remember a classmate, Mike Sievers, was among the crowd that night.
Anyway, on with the pictures. I posted a baker’s dozen of Willie over on flickr, and have selected 5 of the best photos to show below:
Thanks for posting your review and your great photos. And thanks for doing it right after the show!
