A Spring Day Around Lindsborg

Let’s start the month in which I celebrate the 14th anniversary of this blog with a slice of life post.

I rode my bike around town this afternoon, and took a few photos of the many beautiful flowers I saw. I wish I could capture the scents as well; for a few days there are certain blocks that smell so wonderful!

Later I came across a house that was being taken down. It looked old to me, and I spoke with a neighbor, RD Rasmussen, who gave me the following information about the house.

It dates from the 1880s, and had an addition built in the 50s. When RD purchased it in the early 70s, he was requested to keep the house intact due to its historical significance.

Time passed, and eventually the house became too damaged by termites, and so is being taken down.

So, goodbye to a structure that has seen almost 150 years of changes!

Later we took the dog out for a run, and I got a few pictures, including one view that struck me as a portal of some kind, another of a crop-dusting plane, and a different perspective on the road behind.

Just another spring day around Lindsborg, Kansas, May 2nd, 2016.
