Lovely Kansas from Above

Monday was a rare day for spring, with virtually no wind. It was warm, with a few clouds, and late in the day we took off so I could practice flying the drone and taking pictures.

The first spot is one of my favorite places to ride my bicycle as well as go on leisurely Sunday drives. It’s northwest of Lindsborg, a couple of miles west of Coronado Heights.

Well, I found out it’s even prettier just a couple of hundred yards off the road. There’s a very nice pond and rolling hills that extend to the horizon.

We then headed over to Rosehill to let the dog have his run. I was trying the “follow me” on the drone function when all of a sudden it took off and headed straight west! It ended up about 75 yards away and I quickly returned to manual mode so I could bring it back.

Those photos aren’t as strikingly beautiful as the first batch, but provide an interesting perspective of the landscape northeast of Lindsborg.

As usual, the video takes longer to process, but here are the best photos of the day. Click any image to see a larger version.
