Above Mushroom Rock Park

Spring in Kansas means a lot of wind, so I haven’t been able to do much flying this month. Today was almost calm, and I got some flight time in.

We were up north of Kanopolis Lake, at Mushroom Rock park. I spent most of the time just getting familiar with the unit, flying further away than before and just getting comfortable with the controls.

I did do some filming, and think there’s enough for at least a short video. I did get a few interesting still shots, though I can see that I have to work a bit on my framing and composition. It’s weird to look down at your phone, and jiggle the drone controls to get the framing you want. Not the same as just moving the camera directly, that’s for sure!
